Ferraris For All

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Whilst the panic in financial markets has lead to calls for ever more prudence and levelling down, economist and journalist Daniel Ben Ami, urges us to reject what he calls a “caveman equality.” “In the Stone Age,” he wryly comments, “everyone was dirt poor but pretty equal!” Although only a barmy few would advocate such equality many of us see the inequalities across the world and come to the conclusion that in the West we should have less while people in the developing world should have more. Daniel Ben Ami suggests this is a useless strategy which justifies producing less and he states “It is the poor that really suffer as a result, the rich have got wealth, it’s the poor people who most of all need more affluence and growth. We should fight for Ferraris for all and those with caveman logic should go and live in caves.”
This report is part of the second magazine programme featuring on WORLDbytes, a new and exciting news channel created by the charity WORLDwrite.
WORLDbytes’ second programme will screen from Friday 3rd October, 7pm onwards. As well as this report the programme features a further report from the much loved Aliens who are now on the look out for our carbon footprints, a feature report on low waged workers, a ‘panic’ on localised global warming hot spots in London and a scientist telling us to chill out about what we throw away in our waste bins. The programme’s credo is ‘don’t shout at the telly, change the message on it’.
