The Terrible Price of War
We hear the news reports of casualties daily. Weekly we hear our government’s policy line on our war on terror. But rarely do we hear from the foot soldiers and their families to learn about the heart-wrenching cost of war in the lives of our brave American boys.
Nowhere will you find a more compelling everyman’s view than in There’s a Tree in the Meadow,by Tina Hyder. Mrs. Hyder is the widow of Elton M. Hyder, who was Assistant United States Attorney General under President Dwight Eisenhower.
She is no longer affiliated with any political party, explaining that one party has lost its’ conscience and the other has lost it’s courage.
She says, “This book is not intended to condemn this Administration for its misguided missteps in Iraq but to enlighten the uninformed as to the nature and dire consequences of such actions.”
A Tree in the Meadow is a real eye opener into the emotional depth of families decimated by this war. “It should be read by anyone who is scandalized by the unbridled and unnecessary use of our military power,” she concludes.
This is a book of destiny. Within its pages lies the simple secret for world peace, based on a prophetic dream Mrs. Hyder had many years ago about the war in Iraq. She tried to warn the powers that be but to no avail. She has been an outspoken critic of this war and only sees things worsening. Her prophetic visions are part and parcel of the story along with her own pragmatic philosophies.
