PRESS RELEASE
NATIONAL NEXT OF KIN AWARENESS WEEK
29th October - 4th November 2001
Who’s your next of kin?
Designed as a campaign to raise awareness about the problems locating loved ones in an emergency.
Following an accident or emergency did you know it can take the emergency services hours - even days to contact the correct next of kin?
Why?
Simply because we don’t carry that kind of information on us.
Accidents always happen but we never know when.
If a member of your family was involved in an accident
you would want to know immediately - wouldn’t you?
We all think that what we carry in our wallet or purse is good enough -but quite simply it isn’t, credit cards, even a driving licence do not help the emergency services locate your family quickly. They may trace a family member eventually but how long would it take?
Next of Kin provides peace of mind and a practical solution.
Next of Kin issue a card to its members with a unique membership number which holds up to three next of kin details and any medical information which could be life saving. The information is made available to the emergency services confidentially within minutes.
Recognised nationally by the police the Next of Kin service will play a vital key role in day to day policing.
The service was created following a real life experience by the founder. (an amazing story with a happy ending).
Craig Fairbrass (Dan from Eastenders) is supporting Next of Kin due to a similar real life experience of his own. (Photos available).
Marc Cass from the hit BBC TV series ‘999’ has also endorsed the Next of Kin system and is supporting the promotional campaign. (Photos availablei. Marc is also available for comment.
