**New and Spec-tacular -- The Rhinestone Reglaze**

Added: (Sun Apr 06 2008)

Pressbox (Press Release) - We have been experimenting for some time now with the addition of Rhinestones to the edges of reglazed lenses. These are mainly for rimless glasses, added, to disguise the thickness of the lens or just for decoration. We have added them to the front surface of the lens, in a position away from the line of sight, for cosmetic purposes only, of course.
We tried flat-backed stones first and glued them to the flat edge, but they were prone to removal when cleaning and some cleaning agents dissolved the glue. So we now use the best Swarovski foil covered, pointed back crystals, supplied by a UK company . We first drill a conical impression into the lens edge, polish the impression, then apply a small amount of glue then add the stone, so that it is flush with the lens, the internal reflections from the crystal are impressive, they look beautiful!
They work best with higher short sighted prescriptions, where the edge of the lens is thicker than in the centre of the lens. We can always add them to the front of any lens if so required. There is a lot of work involved as it is all done by hand; before the lenses are fitted to the frame. We think they look better when the edges of the lenses are polished but the guys in the lab making them think the matt finish looks just as good? Go to our blog (http://www.ciliaryblue.com/spectacle_lenses/) to see some examples.
So if you want to add some real individuality to your rimless reglaze or just to your standard glasses, then have a ‘Rhinestone reglaze’. It costs £30 per pair of lenses, this is for 5 stones per lens, we will do them to your design or if left to us we will do what we think looks best!
We now think that we have something that really is, very nice, very impressive and very unusual.
So why have a Rhinestone reglaze? Has your prescription changed, have you damaged your lenses or have you seen a frame that you would like? You might want to make a pair in to sunglasses or change the lenses to reactions. You might just want to decorate an existing pair of glasses? The reasons are almost limitless!
We are sure, if you were given the choice to have exactly the same quality of lenses reglazed in to your frame, for often, less than half the price then surely you’d choose the cheaper option.
Many people that contact us do so to make sure it is a proper service and that we know what we are doing. They are trusting us with their reglaze so they have every right to be cautious. We have years and years of experience in this business and know the reglaze market inside out.
Our Optician owner provides us with full professional advice and ensures professional integrity with all our services.
We have tried to make the whole process as simple and easy for the customer from the on-line ordering to full description of the lens types. We even send the packaging to you, so you can send your frames safely to us in pre-paid, pre-addressed boxes. You will then get email updates informing you how your reglaze is progressing. All at a very competitive price.
Does it work, of course it does!
We are a little unique in the reglaze business as we don’t charge any extra for rimless or semi-rimless glazing. It is a flat price for all our glazing. No hidden extras just fair, honest pricing.
We do all forms of varifocal too. We can take the measurements from an existing pair of your varifocals and apply it to a new frame or you can re-use the frame that already has varifocals in place.
When we have first time varifocal wearers we always advise them to use their Optician so that all the relevant measurements can be made correctly. Once they are happy and successfully wearing them we can make more pairs.
So, go on, have a ‘Rhinestone Reglaze‘, use your old frame, use a new one but save money, and have something really unique. Use ciliaryblue.
