Medicare Advantage Vendor invests in Mapping Software In effort to simplify the process

Pressbox (Press Release) - Fieldtex Products Inc. a CMS approved Medicare Advantage OTC Benefits administrator vendor invested in mapping software in August 2011. The goal was to better serve their clients and have the most current information on their members. The Altova Mapforce software was purchased from a company out of Chicago, IL.

Before the mapping software was purchased, the Medicare Advantage health plans were required to provide a customized file that included specific information from their benefit enrollment database in order to provide Fieldtex with eligible member information for the over the counter medicine benefit program. At times the files provided were not always accurate and there was room for error. With this new process the Medicare Advantage provider does not have to create a custom file and can utilize the 834 Member Enrollment and Maintenance file they are already producing. It will also drastically cut down the cost of denied benefits. .

After considerable research, Fieldtex decided to purchase Altova Mapforce software because it could map from all ANSI X12 sets in version 5010 which are required to comply with HIPAA regulations, the robustness of the software, and the strong technical support were also determining factors. The relationship so far has been very successful.

Fieldtex Products is going into its 5th year of successfully administering OTC Benefits non-prescription plans for Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans. The program is fully administered out of their Rochester New York Facility including the call center and distribution. Most orders are processed the day they are received and shipped throughout the U.S.
