The TV makeover show is now an established favourite in the UK having been first developed in the USA. Today we are all used to the idea of working to change our outer body image, but now there are exciting new techniques from the USA, that can help us change our emotional states too.
John Burns, the Hypnotherapist at Yeovil based Somerset Hypnotherapy, has recently trained in one of these new methods and has been awarded a Diploma in Emotion Replacement Therapy (ERT) from the Tom Silver Institute of California. John trained with Tom Silver during Tom's most recent visit to London in April this year.
John says; 'ERT is a powerful technique for achieving personal change even in those situations where we may feel stuck and unable to do what we want.'
John continued; 'Tom Silver originally developed ERT to deal with fears and phobias, it proved to be so effective that he developed the idea further so that it could be used in any life situation that involves emotions linked to actions, for example over eating or emotional eating.'
'I am already beginning to see the amazing changes that ERT can bring to my clients. The effect of being able to quickly change an old redundant emotion and replace it with a new one that the client desires is inspirational.'
