THE CHRISTINE BLUNDELL MAKE-UP ACADEMY LAUNCHES A SERIES OF PROFESSIONAL MAKE UP COURSES

Pressbox (Press Release) - This year, the new Christine Blundell Make-Up Academy (CBMA) has inaugurated a series of 3-month professional make up courses. The Winter make up course is scheduled to start on 4th January next year while the Spring course will commence on April 5th 2010. This is consequent to the successful Summer course (June 2009) and Autumn course (2009).

The three-month full-time intensive courses have been specifically tailor-made to feature theoretical and practical aspects of makeup and hair design with a bias towards the film industry. The professional makeup school prides itself in a unique approach to teaching. Based on teamwork and interaction with real makeup scenarios, the students are exposed to the inner workings of the film industry on a daily basis.

The make up courses will cover a wide range of skills such as basic hair cutting and sectioning, wigs construction, blocking up and padding, casualty make up, prosthetics, character theatre, facial hair, hair extensions and many more facets of the make-up industry. After the student is through a make-up course, he of she goes for a two-week boot camp where the skills learnt have to be creatively employed on practical assignments.

The courses are facilitated by Christine Blundell herself and an experienced team of professional make up artists. Having had a prolific career in film make-up, Christine offers the closest bridge between theory and practice in these custom-designed make-up courses. With several BAFTA nominations and an award to top off an Oscar, Christine is a wealth of experience in make up. She currently works on at least three films every year, some of them being the biggest budget features around.

The tutors in the make-up school are also working professionals in the makeup industry, with a vast experience in their respective areas of specialisation. CBMA also hosts celebrity figures in the film industry for informal meetings. This helps the students to visualise the practical aspects of their course form real life experiences. By enrolling in the school for make up courses, the students gain a valuable exposure not only to knowledge but also to people and the entire industry.
