Spectacles provide a very important function to those that need them. It is recommended that we all have our eyes tested at least once every two years. And for those where the prescription has changed the purchase of new spectacles is becoming prohibitive. The public often assume that they need to change spectacle frames when they change their lenses, this is just not the case. It is entirely feasible to retain the existing frame and change just the lenses, a reglaze!
Ciliaryblue is a UK based, online, spectacle glazing company run by a fully registered and practising Ophthalmic Optician . We specialize in the glazing of all types of single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses into new and existing frames. Our prices are significantly cheaper than the equivalent on the high street, often as much as a 75% saving for exactly the same product!
The website contains all the information required to order single vision lenses online. If more specialized lenses are required we have fully trained staff available to answer phone calls, email enquiries and to process these orders manually.
Once the order has been completed ciliaryblue’s unique process starts. We send a pre-addressed/pre-paid box to our customers for them to send their frames to us. Once received at ciliaryblue an email is sent to the customer confirming this. The frames are then reglazed. Another email is then sent when the finished spectacles are posted back. The box has been specifically designed so that it can be posted through any normal letterbox.
Ciliaryblue is different in many other ways too. We do not charge any extra for semi-rimless or rimless reglazing ( many online and high street retailers will charge as much as £30 extra for this). We also offer a spectacle refurbishment service, cleaning, polishing and replacing where possible any worn parts. This can make older frames feel like new again. We also have a blog that gives advice, demonstrates products, ( high index lenses) shows new products (Swarovski crystal rhinestone spectacles) and even a video of a reglaze etc.
