Photochromic lenses have been around for years, but they were made from glass, this made them heavy and uncomfortable, they reacted more slowly as they aged and the tint darkened with time.
The advent of plastic reactions lenses changed all that. These lenses are lighter, react more quickly, go darker and go lighter according to the ambient light. They are available in both grey and brown.
It doesn’t matter if you wear single vision, bifocals or varifocals either, as all types of lenses are made with this material. They even make a higher index materials so you can have your lenses made thinner. This is a must for those that have a high prescription.
Ciliaryblue do all types of reactions lenses, included the branded Transitions lenses. We can glaze these into new or existing frames (a reglaze). All for a fraction of that you might pay on the High Street for exactly that same product.
We are an on-line company, run and owned by a qualified Optician , you can order all single vision on the website, but the more complicated varifocal and bifocals are done over the phone where more information is needed and greater advice offered!
We can put varifocals into frame that already have them in place or take the measurements form an existing pair and apply them to a new frame. Only first time wearers cannot benefit from our varifocal reglaze.
Once you have ordered a pre-addressed and pre-paid box is sent to you, for you to sent the frame back to us. This is done to make it easy for you and to make sure the correct packaging is used. Once we receive the frames, we will reglaze and send back. The box has been designed to go through the letter box of most homes.
Emails are sent to keep you informed of when we receive your frames, when they are glazed and when they are sent back to you. That way you don’t need to worry what is happening with your glasses.
