On IN SHORT ORDER, Thursday, May3rd at 9:00PM EST, Sue Vogan will be talking about LYME DISEASE with Daniel Cameron, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Cameron has been treating Lyme disease patients for over 17 years, is a member of the ILADS and IDSA, and an attending physician at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mount Kisco, New York. Dr. Cameron will provide some interesting details about the disease that mimics so many other conditions, the two treatment guidelines, and give us a birds-eye view from the physician side of the problems.
Many victims of Lyme disease explain away their symptoms of Lyme disease stress, depression, anxiety, etc. Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne infection and symptoms are often fatigue, dizziness, sleep disturbances, headaches, chest and joint pain, nausea, diarrhea, irritability, poor memory and concentration, anxiety, stress, depression, etc.
Dr. Cameron states, I have witnessed the ravages of Lyme on countless occasions. I see patients who have been sick with Lyme disease for more than two years without a positive test. I also have patients who have been sick for more than six months because they were not aware that fatigue, poor memory, irritability and poor sleep could be symptoms of neurologic Lyme disease. I have treated teenagers who were too sick to attend school leaving them with home tutoring as the only way to complete their education.
No one should take an attitude of ticks dont like me, I would know if I have Lyme disease, I am just stressed. Often, your friends and family recognize you have Lyme disease before you. Make it clear to your doctor all of your symptoms. Be aware that you may have Lyme disease even if you have never had a tick bite, rash, or positive Lyme disease test. You may have Lyme disease even if your doctor initially feels you have another condition like lupus, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue.
You may read about it in the papers or see it on television, but you cant ask either your important questions. In Short Order appreciates your questions and comments tune in and give Sue a call.
