New Sound Quality on Hearing Aid Compatible Phones
Amplicom, the most innovative manufacturers of phones for seniors and people with hearing loss, present new quality sound Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC) domestic and mobile phones.
An ongoing commitment to improve amplified sound has ensured that the new Amplicom family of Hearing Aid Compatible telephones meet the ETSI “Preferred” audio standard, rather than the lower “Acceptable” market standard.
Meeting the higher “Preferred” HAC standard beats competitors’ performance by 10db, as proved in an independent laboratory*. Distortion on the new Amplicom models, at high volume, is below 2% THD, some 25% better than most competitors.
David Youngs, European Sales Manager for Amplicom says, “The ETSI audio standards are not widely understood in the Health Industry, and we believe we are the first manufacturer to meet the “Preferred” standard on cordless telephones. We constantly aim to improve sound quality for Hearing Aid wearers and are thrilled to have met the higher standard.”
The £149 PowerTel 680 Combo, available mid-November, is a domestic phone combination with a corded and cordless handset that comes with a vibrating wrist-shaker. The Combo allows simple switching, at the touch of a button, between pre-programmed preferences for family members with different hearing needs.
The Wrist-Shaker can remotely turn on the telephone, provide hands-free answering and send out a personal pre-recorded message to 5 different numbers in emergencies.
For those with hearing loss, visual or dexterity problems, the new M6000 mobile phone, features, big buttons, 2” colour display, 30dB amplification, Bluetooth, tone control and an extra loud ringer.
However, the M6000 has two crucial features that focus on Emergency Response, bringing peace of mind to those who are vulnerable. Calling pre-programmed emergency numbers until a response is received, the “Man Down” fall detector and hidden “SOS” panic button both operate hands-free with loudspeaker.
The £99 M6000, due out December, is SIM free and not locked into any network.
