Mediterranean Diet: Still Number One Weight Loss Method

Added: (Tue Feb 07 2012)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The famous Mediterranean Diet still reigns supreme over its competition in a survey done in November 2011. Mediterranean diet was the number one nominated best dieting solution by 22 nutritionists from different parts of the world. South beach diet came in the second place with 8 votes and Atkins diet came in third with 4 votes.

The survey was done in order to find out which dieting method do nutritionist prefer and would like to recommend to their patients. The survey was done amidst the "heavy weight" season with Halloween, Thanks giving and Christmas coming. The parameters of the survey includes, most health preserving, least harmful, best results, best methods used and others.

Although regarded as a way of life rather than a diet by many, the Mediterranean Diet is a dieting solution that consists mainly with vegetables and fruits and less consumption of red meat and at least 4 portions of fish per week. Compared to the famous Atkins Diet, Mediterranean Diet, aka Med diet, is a less "torturing" method because it doesn't prohibit you from eating but just at little amounts. Meanwhile, South beach diet, which is patterned from Med Diet came in second because it becomes a requirement for weight loss, rather than a way of life in comparison to the Mediterranean Diet.

“There is now doubt it will be recommended. Compared to the other dieting solutions, this one’s a natural method. Its their lifestyle, daily living thing.’ says Kathleen M. Zelman, MPH, RD, LD., ‘As people working for every one's good health, we would want to recommend to them the safest way that we know of if they want to burn more fat and start that healthy living.”

With this result, this just proves that Mediterranean Diet is still the best way to lose weight in the world.
