Leading Solutions Provider To Take New Intelliplus Teamphone Service

Added: (Thu Feb 28 2002)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The exploitation of synergies between London-based Intelliplus and Teamphone has yielded its first significant result with leading UK reseller Convergent Systems Limited, agreeing a contract to sell ‘Smart Numbers’ – the new network delivered Unified Communications* service.

Intelliplus, which recently acquired telecoms operator, Medius Networks Ltd, has developed Smart Numbers in partnership with Teamphone, the UK leader in Unified Communications solutions for team-based, flexible working.

Intelliplus and Medius worked together with Teamphone to turn a CPE (customer premises equipment) model into a network delivered service. Now installed equipment in the Intelliplus switch means a whole new range of businesses can benefit from the services enjoyed by the likes of BT and Microsoft without any capital cost.

Lucy Seven, Marketing Manager for Convergent, says: “ We have taken this service to sell to our SME customer base and to differentiate ourselves in the market place. It allows SME’s to budget with a ‘per head per month’ cost model. It means they don’t have to think in terms of cash flow, but in fixed costs per head.”

In essence, the new Unified Communications services offered by Intelliplus integrate and bring simplicity and consistency to the multitude of communications, devices and networks that surround modern companies, allowing them to organize their businesses in completely new ways.

The Smart Number services incorporate Single ‘Virtual’ Numbers, Unified Messaging, Email, Call Management and Virtual Call Centre applications. These combine to offer users access and control of all 2-way communications (voice, fax, email and SMS) from any device, over any network, enabling them to work and communicate more efficiently from anywhere – which is of great importance as workers spend increasing amounts of time away from desks. Convergent will sell the services to existing customers on an upgrade path, and to new business customers as they come on stream.

Tracey Miller, Head of Marketing Services for Intelliplus, says: “This deal is recognition of the work we have put into bringing together a range of skillsets and technologies that meet changing and evolving business needs.

“ Convergent Systems Limited (CSL) is a £20million turnover business, servicing the CRM and telecommunications requirements of the SME, Enterprise and Contact Centre markets. It has agreements with leading industry companies including Avaya, BT, Alcatel and Cisco. We are delighted to be among that number.”

Notes to Editors
*Unified Communications describes the combination of unified messaging with real time communications services accessed via a common service interface (Ovum 2001). Unified Messaging describes the ability to access and reply to multiple message types via a single mailbox. Single ‘Virtual’ Numbers describes a single telephone number linked to a person, not a location. A user publishes one telephone number, which they divert to any location, the office, at home, on the move or a temporary location.
