Pressbox (Press Release) -
North Yorkshire house wife Joanne Alton has this week launched Glasses 4 Eyes - a new company and website offering standard and designer prescription glasses and sunglasses online - at hugely discounted prices when compared to high street opticians.
She had been struggling on with the same old pair of glasses for several years, reluctant to buy new ones due to the prohibitive cost.
"With 3 young children, there is always something that needs to be bought for them, and they take priority, so I kept putting it off" says Joanne, age 36.
"Then,as luck would have it, on the very day I decided to bite the bullet and pay through the nose for my new specs at a high street opticians I made a discovery"
"I stumbled across a couple of online retailers offering cheap prescription glasses, and just thought - why can't I do that ?"
Joanne has been out of the work place for a few years prefering to concentrate on raising her 3 children, but she could not resist the challenge so set to work on putting a business together from nothing.
With the help of her excellent new suppliers (optical frames suppliers and a first class optical lab) the website started to take shape.
On Wednesday of this week the site was launched. Glasses4Eyes.co.uk offers a large range of standard, semi-rimless, rimless, bendable and designer frames - all of which can be ordered with clear prescription lenses or as prescription sunglasses from only £15 per pair !
Joanne has big plans. "Within a couple of months I'll be adding a try online feature. This will allow a customer to upload a photograph of him or herself to the site and view every pair of frames (with or without tinted sunglasses lenses) on his or her own face - rather like looking in a mirror" says Joanne.
"Once things are up and running I'll then be taking a close look at contact lenses !"
Glasses4eyes.co.uk looks sure to be a success !
