Drop in for Some Reflexology Whilst Out Shopping...

Added: (Tue Sep 13 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - If your feet are tired of traipsing around the shops, why not call in for a Reflexology taster treatment at Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet on Wednesday 21st September?

To celebrate World Reflexology Week, Janine Clinton-Smith a registered member of the International Institute of Reflexology®, will be giving foot and hand reflexology introductory treatments to shoppers, in return for a donation to the North London Hospice. The Reflexology stand will be situated opposite Dorothy Perkins and will be open from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm.

“Reflexology is a fantastic way of relaxing and helping the body to heal itself naturally. It works on the principle that there are tiny reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to all of the organs, glands and parts of the body. If the body is out of balance, a trained reflexologist can pick this up on the feet or hands and help to harmonise the body systems using a special thumb and finger technique”, said Janine.

“Reflexology dates back many thousands of years, but has gained popularity in the UK over the last fifty years. It is now one of the most popular complementary therapies and is becoming more widely accepted as a credible partner to orthodox medicine. Many hospices, including the North London Hospice, use Reflexology as a way of providing relaxation for cancer patients. It can also help with pain relief and the side-effects associated with cancer treatments.”

World Reflexology Week runs from 18th to 24th September and practitioners from all over the world will be holding special promotional events to raise awareness of the therapy and introduce its benefits to the public.

Janine Clinton-Smith MIIR (Reg’d) works from her home in Hendon and also provides a mobile reflexology service. She will be assisted at the World Reflexology Week promotional stand by Lina Ramchand, from the Hidden Alternative in North Finchley.
