Association of Optometrists (AOP) and biscit launch upgraded communications packages for AOP's members
London, March 27, 2006 - The Association of Optometrists (AOP) and enterprise voice and data specialist biscit today launched two upgraded communications packages for the AOP's 11,000 members who are optometrists, dispensing opticians and students. The packages converge the use of data and voice enabling optometrists to enjoy the full power of the web and to significantly reduce communications costs.
biscit is the AOP's Endorsed Service Provider for voice and data communications. Under the terms of its business relationship with the AOP, biscit has developed two bespoke broadband packages, which AOP members can use at work or in the home. The first AOP Practice and AOP Home packages were introduced in 2004.
The newly-upgraded AOP Home package provides the fastest Internet connections and download speeds available � up to 8Mbps, about 160 times faster than standard modem dial-up. Included in the upgraded package is unlimited bandwidth, all the tools needed to protect against spam and virus attacks, a personal Internet domain name and unlimited email addresses. AOP Home pricing begins at �14.99 per month and comes with an optional voice upgrade at �9.99 per month providing 500 minutes per month of local and national calls during evenings and weekends.
The upgraded AOP Practice package also provides the fastest download speeds available, unlimited use of the Internet, and all the tools of AOP Home. Additional features of AOP Practice include network monitoring to ensure that an Internet connection is maintained, a backup dial-up account at lo-cal rates for use in the event of broadband failure, and a free single-page website to promote an optometrist's practice and services. AOP Practice is available at �24.99 per month and also comes with an optional voice upgrade at �9.99 per month offering reduced line rentals and call rates of up to 30%.
