Test For Anaemia Now!
Blood in our bodies is composed of three types of cells (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets) that circulate throughout the body. Red blood cells contain hemoglobin (Hb), a red, iron-rich protein that carries oxygen from the lungs to all of the body's muscles and organs. Oxygen provides the energy the body needs for all of its normal activities. Anaemia occurs when the number of red blood cells (or the Hb in them) falls below normal and the body gets less oxygen and therefore has less energy than it needs to function properly.
This often leads to tiredness, fatigue and weakness because with less Hemoglobin to carry oxygen, less oxygen is available to fuel the body’s vital processes. To compensate for the decreased oxygen reaching the heart and brain, the body diverts blood flow from the skin, allowing more pale (less blood-filled) tissue to show through, whilst the respiratory system responds by increasing the depth and rate of breathing. Other symptoms can include headaches, Tinnitus (ringing in the ears), Sleeplessness, Decreased ability to concentrate and Loss of sex drive.
Left untreated, Anaemia may become worse and it can lead to potentially serious, even life-threatening complications. When the number of red blood cells decreases, the heart works harder, pumping more blood to send more oxygen throughout the body. If the heart works too hard, it can develop a rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), and/or another serious condition known as left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH), an enlargement of the heart muscle that in turn can lead to heart failure.
So if you are feeling constantly tired, weak and run down, it could be Anaemia. The good news is Anaemia is treatable. Anaemia Meter could be your first step to check for Anaemia at home. If positive your doctor may need to conduct further tests to determine the cause of your Anaemia.
Developed in the US and FDA and CE approved Anaemia Meter is the first ever instant Anaemia Test – a hematologic test that’s fast and safe to use with excellent accuracy and correlation with the Abbott Cell Dyn Hematology Analyser.
Screening for Hemoglobin (Hb) levels in the blood, Anaemia METER SELF SCREENER reaches end point within 20 minutes, displaying results clearly for up to 10 days on a metered test strip that can be shown to a health care professional for further consultation.
With the most comprehensive instruction guide to using it – makes it so simple to use. And the results compiled in the form of a ‘score rating’ and a clear colour scale makes it possible to instantly identify and diagnose Anaemia.
