Health Plus supports 40+ pregnancy

Fern Britten, Cherie Blaire, Mariella Frostrup and Madonna are just a few women who have had babies in their 40s. Despite recent bad press warning women or the perils of 40+ motherhood, Health Plus Magazine, the UKs only health and beauty magazine for 40+ women, fully supports women’s rights to have 40+ pregnancies.

Whilst there may be some risks to having a later pregnancy, there are also numerous positives. A 40+ woman who is fit and healthy and works with her GP to manage any risks that may occur can easily become a mother.

Dr Miriam Stoppart comments “Studies show that the health of the mother is a far more important factor than her age when it comes to having a normal baby and delivery”.

In the last 10 years, according to the Office for National Statistics, there has been a 50% increase in the number of 40+ women having babies.

Reflexologist Jacqui Garnier comments “Age is never really too much of a problem. After all, an old apple tree can still produce beautiful apples”.

Health Plus Magazine offers balanced and informative views on 40 + women’s health issues. Whilst it highlights the risks of 40+ pregnancies it strongly believes that if you are fit and healthy and informed by your GP then 40+ pregnancies should be an option for all.
