Pressbox (Press Release) -
Orlando, FL March 19, 2007 Conservative Americans around the country are looking for change in our country's direction; and the Libertarian Party is anxious to be the party of change.

This past weekend March 16-18, the Libertarian Party of the United States held their annual 2007 National Committee Convention in Orlando, FL at the Orlando International Airport Hotel.

At the convention, the Libertarian Party, America's largest third party, renewed their focus on leading a political charge towards ballot access, fundraising, and proportional representation.

The Libertarians have been classified as a center-right party with a strong focus on personal privacy, gun rights, social security reform and savings programs, open-immigration, crime control, freedom of speech, less wasteful government spending, and lower taxes.

The highlight of the convention was the 2007 Libertarian Presidential Debates that featured: Internet entrepreneur Mike Jingozian of Oregon, Las Vegas odds maker Wayne Allyn Root, physics professor George Phillies of Massachusetts, retired businessman Alben Link of New York, and political newcomer and Florida businessman Daniel Imperato.

Surprisingly, the debates were not dominated by a traditional Libertarian candidate, such as Phillies, but by a new Independent from Florida, Daniel Imperato.

"I am not a 'polished-tician," stated Imperato, "I am a man of the people that believes in keep-it-simple solutions. I believe that it's time for America to address its problems and not shove them underneath the mattress like the Republicans and Democrats have been doing for years. We need to address real problems such as our rising national debt, jobs, social security, healthcare, and Iraq."

Imperato delivered a fresh message based on values and principles along with a 'no-nonsense' business approach that impressed many of the delegates.

This is Imperato's second party convention that he has attended within the past two months. Previously he attended the Reform Party State Convention in Tampa Florida in February and later their National Committee meeting.

With a fresh independent candidate like Imperato, there is no telling how far the Libertarian Party can go in the upcoming 2008 elections.

"The future of America is the future of the Libertarian Party," said former US House member and current libertarian, Rep. Bob Barr, in front of the state party chairmen. "And the future is bright."
