Pressbox (Press Release) -
Youth in Politics [co-founded by Marty Drury BA [Hons] ] encourages young people to become more involved in politics- regardless of party support or circumstances.
Youth In Politics is launching The Reformist Party, a left wing political party devoted to giving young people a voice in politics. Aimed at young people, the party is devoted to speaking on issues such as student fees, student cost of living, home affairs and more.
The party currently seeks spokesmen and women who are young people [18+] to speak for it on key issues. It has suspended membership fees and instead asks that people wishing to become involved give to BBC Children in Need Appeal.
The Party has sought backing from The Liberal Democrats, Liberty and The Stop the War Coalition.
Chair of the Executive of the Party is Martin Drury, a former Bangor University student and campaigner with the Liberal Democrats in the 2001 election. He is also a freelance journalist retained by the Daily Mirror and New Woman Magazine and recognised by the BBC as an interviewer and journalist in respect of Fame Academy 2.
