Olympics Minister, Tessa Jowell, gets grilling over 2012 games

Olympics Minister, Tessa Jowell, invited First News young reporters to meet her at the House of Commons, 1,000 days before the opening of the 2012 London Olympics.

Jamie, 15, Beth, 13 and Eve, 10, spent a morning in Westminster grilling the Minister on a variety of topics related to the 2012 London Olympics. Ms Jowell faced questioning on whether London would be ready for the Olympics, her relationship with London’s Mayor, Boris Johnson, how a 2010 General Election might affect the plans for the games and even, why she’d jump under a bus for Tony Blair.

Eve asked if Boris Johnson got on Tessa’s nerves; “He doesn’t get on my nerves. He actually makes me laugh a lot. He needs quite a lot of handling and keeping under control but we get on very well.”
