White House Hopeful Imperato Comments on IRA Disarmament, Blair, Ahern, Ireland, and Great Britain

Added: (Thu Oct 06 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - October 6, 2005 – West Palm Beach, Fl – Upon learning the historic news from the Independent International Commission on Decommissioning (IICD) that the IRA has finally disarmed, 2008 White House Hopeful Daniel Imperato voiced his support for the disarmament process.

“I believe that it is important to promote a culture of peace, not of war. The steps taken by the IRA over the past months have been steps of peace, and for that they should be commended,” said Imperato.

Back in July of 2005 the IRA had made a promise that they would disarm and move towards peace, thanks to the efforts of many different leaders.

“My strongest support goes to Prime Ministers Blair and Ahern, General de Chastelain, the IICD, as well as the people, both Catholic and Protestant, for moving forward as people of God and recognizing the need to promoting violence and hatred in the region and amongst God-loving people,” stated Imperato.

However, despite the disarmament, policing Northern Ireland and other paramilitary activity still remains a problem in the region.

“What is most sad about this ongoing conflict in the region, is that innocent lives have been taken, and that young children have been taught to hate their neighbor instead of love them. Now, we have started to move in the right direction, but the peace process still has a long way to go,” explained Imperato.

Imperato felt that now that the arms have been set aside, Catholics and Prostestants can join hands and bring the ongoing conflict in the region to a resolution.

“Now that the guns are away, all parties involved can come to the negotiation table and make peace. But the most important thing that all sides must remember is to approach each other with mutual beneficial respect. People with differing opinions should disagree with one another, not disrespect one another,” stated Imperato, who carries with him a great deal of knowledge from all of the worlds religions, having traveled the globe for over 30 years.

At this time, Imperato made it clear that the United States should show its unwavering support for Ireland, North Ireland, and Great Britain as a whole.

Imperato finished with the following remarks: “We have been witness to what is a landmark occurrence in finally implementing peace in that region of the world. But now that we have made progress our determination must be stronger, and our will undaunted. The people of the United States should stand with our neighbors as they strive for peace. Hopefully, I will be empowered by the people so that I can bring all parties together to make peace a reality.”
