Pressbox (Press Release) -
UKIP, the UK's fourth largest political party, has joined forces with Jibba Jabba Productions to launch a series of video and audio podcasts designed to promote UKIP to a wider and younger audience.
Branded 'UKIP @ Large with Nigel Farage', the podcasts feature UKIP's leader giving his views on a number of issues, along with interviews and competitions.
The first podcast includes Farage lambasting the Conservative Party's weak posturing on the European Union. It also includes an interview with Lisa Duffy, the UKIP Mayor of Ramsey, who explains how UKIP works when it comes to local politics. There's also a chance to be interactive and win lunch with Farage by nominating a 'Mug of the Month'.
A number of video and audio podcasts will be produced over the coming months featuring a variety of different guests and themes.
The podcasts will be promoted on the UKIP website, available via iTunes and highlighted on Twitter by Nigel Farage's Twitter feed @Nigel_Farage
As one of the most successful young production companies in the social media sphere and with a wealth experience working with brand names across a range of sectors, Jibba Jabba are the perfect partner to to ensure the UKIP message is presented professionally and reaches the intended target audience.
Nigel Farage, UKIP Leader said:
"Embracing technology like this is the obvious way for getting the UKIP message out to a wider and younger audience. Politics has become dull, predictable and full of the usual suspects, by podcasting we believe we can explain more about UKIP and also have some fun at the same time. Working with Jibba Jabba was great as they know the market and industry inside out. I hope that our podcast will soon be notching up many downloads."
Tim Fuell, Director at Jibba Jabba, said: "Whatever your political persuasion, it's important that people feel they can interact with their politicians. With such an engaging character as Nigel, there is sure to be plenty of debate and comment and what better way to engage then on mobile and online, holding a direct conversation."
