Liquidlogic’s 30th customer signs up for its Children’s Case Management System
Leeds, 05 November, 2009 – Liquidlogic, a leading provider of collaborative software to the public sector, today announced that Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has become the 30th customer to sign up for its children’s system, PROTOCOL ICS. Liquidlogic was awarded the contract following a rigorous evaluation process where PROTOCOL outperformed rival solutions on system functionality and ease of use.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council has a population of almost 140,000 spread across the main urban conurbation of Redcar and Greater Eston and many smaller commuter towns, rural villages and coastal settlements.
The Council required a Children’s Case Management System that met all Government compliance requirements for the Integrated Children’s System (ICS). The competitive evaluation team included social care practitioners, managers and business support staff from children’s operational services, ICT, performance, internal audit, legal and procurement. The evaluation team scored each bid and supplier presentation and found PROTOCOL to be the most user-friendly system overall. During evaluation trials, PROTOCOL was found to significantly simplify the processes required from a new electronic system and greatly improve functionality on the existing case management system.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services and Education Councillor Ian Jeffrey said: “Children’s Social Care requires a highly skilled and motivated workforce. By investing in a new Children’s Case Management System that not only meets government requirements, but ensures social workers have access to efficient and effective electronic tools, we are demonstrating our commitment to modernising our services and improving outcomes for children, young people and their families. Liquidlogic’s PROTOCOL system was evaluated as the best system by social workers, managers and other internal stakeholders and we are pleased to be working in partnership with them to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.”
The project began in August 2009 and is expected to be completed by March 2010. The Council is in the process of migrating data from the existing children’s case management systems to PROTOCOL and a comprehensive training plan is in place for almost 300 staff.
“Initial feedback from users has been exceptionally positive. Social workers have commented on PROTOCOL’s functionality and ease of use and are highly impressed with the potential time savings that the new system will afford. We are pleased that Liquidlogic has come on board to help us in our drive to develop a robust children’s case management system that improves functionality for social workers and aids rather than hinders best practice,” said the Council’s ICS Development Manager, David Mason.
Denise Harrison, Liquidlogic’s Sales and Marketing Director, commented, “We are delighted to have won our 30th customer for our PROTOCOL Children’s System with Redcar and Cleveland Council. Councils are increasingly under pressure to modernise and ensure compliance of their health and social care systems and Liquidlogic is becoming the leader in this growing market. We look forward to working with Redcar and Cleveland Council to implement an intuitive system that improves the working lives of practitioners and positively impacts the experience and outcomes of service users.”
