Public Meeting on Crime and Anti Social Behaviour in Nythe, Swindon
Added: (Wed Nov 22 2006)
Pressbox (Press Release) -
Following an increased number of comments from local residents in Nythe over the last eight months with concerns over an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour in the area, the three local Conservative Swindon Borough Councillors (Cllr Glenn Smith, Cllr Dale Heenan, Cllr Phil Young) have arranged a public meeting to discuss the issues.
In addition to the local ward Councillors, the local Police Constable PC Jo Phelps, the Borough’s Anti-Social Behaviour team and a representative from Housing will be present.
Cllr Glenn Smith said, “Although as Borough Councillors we only have a gentleman’s working relationship with the police, we felt it was important that we facilitate the resolution of the issues the residents are facing. Getting everyone in the same room at the same time is going to be the best way to short circuit the process.”
“From the meeting, the police and anti-social behaviour team will appreciate first hand the issues being experienced and the residents will know what action is going to be taken.”
The meeting will be held on Tue 28th November at the Nythe Community Centre, The Drive, Nythe at 7pm.
Cllr Glenn Smith is available for comment or interview on this matter. glenn@CovinghamAndNytheInTouch.com
