Pensioner victim of vicious campaign

Added: (Tue Sep 09 2008)

PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY GLOBAL NEWS INC.

A North Devon pensioner who has been the victim of a vicious campaign of harassment was subject to more damage yesterday when a large stone was thrown through her bed-sitting room window just after midnight.

Mrs. ANNA WOTTON of Law Memorial Houses, Bishops Tawton has been subject to numerous incidents over several years ranging from offensive graffiti to paint being thrown over her dustbins and garden.

Last year, Mrs WOTTON, 65 and a former linguist, had her summerhouse and shed razed to the ground, however Devon & Cornwall police have not attributed the blaze to any one in particular.

Mrs. WOTTON believes the latest incident is down to one of the fellow beneficiaries of the Bishops Tawton Almshouses but refused to say who.

Two of the units have recently been vacated.

'I know they want me out of here' said Mrs. WOTTON 'But I refuse to go quietly. I've been asking too many questions about this Trust and the things that have been going on here. I have lodged a complaint with the Charity Commission.'
The Trust is administrated by local solicitor Mr. TOBY BARNES.

A fellow resident received a caution last year for his behaviour toward Mrs. Wotton, who moved to Law Memorial Houses after being made homeless.
