2008 Presidential Candidate, Daniel Imperato speaks out on Bush, Blair, Iran's Ahmadinejad, and Win Now
West Palm Beach, FL – March 30, 2007 - While still in recovery from his recent eye surgery, 2008 Presidential Candidate, Daniel Imperato gave an interview regarding the recent Iranian Kidnapping Crisis and what it all means for America.
Imperato opened his remarks by asking both Bush and Blair to proceed with "extreme caution" in this situation because the actual kidnappings were done by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp, an Iranian militia not the Iranian government.
This distinction was of key importance to Imperato because the Revolutionary Guard could be pressing the issue for potential war when it comes to US and Iranian relations.
"What this does bring up is a question as to whether or not the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp is playing a role to topple the Ahmadinejad regime," stated Imperato.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp was also involved in a previous coup threat against reformist President Mahmoud Khatami during a string of 1999 student uprisings in Iran.
"Ahmadinejad is in a very difficult position. He does not have great support from his people, which I believe the majority of which do not want to go to war, and he is in a difficult position to either side with the Iranian militia or the release of the English troops. Either way he doesn't win."
Imperato also asked why China and Russia are playing an active role in the hostage situation.
In addition, Imperato pointed out that Ahmadinejad has tapped the global Iranian influence with Iranian ex-patriots spread out around the world, and especially in the United States.
"The Iranian global call out of support consists of payments to ex-pats in exchange for support pertaining to any aggression against Iran. Because of the support agreement, this will turn into a global uprising of Iranian ex-pats to take aggression against its attackers," stated Imperato.
Iranian influence in the United States has been growing rapidly. Just recently, the city of Beverly Hills swore in Jimmy Delshad, a native of Iran, as their new mayor.
According to a 2004 study at MIT, the Iranian population has more than doubled since the last US Census in 2000, from 338,000 to 691,000. More recent estimates now suggest that the Iranian population in America is now over 1million.
Imperato wanted to call out to the rising number of Iranians in America, and also for to those around the world, to refrain from any violent activity against the United States or Great Britain, because of the various factors in play.
"This is a dangerous situation for the United States, Great Britain, and Iran, that must be dealt with diplomacy. If I was president, I would pay attention to the associations, and the ulterior motives of the Iranian militia and who is actually behind these kidnappings," said Imperato.
With the escalation of tensions between the United States and Iran ranging from nuclear advancement, the existence of the holocaust, and the reconstruction of Iraq, Imperato also warned that the administration might try and change the subject in the media to avoid further escalation.
"I would look at oil prices, stock options the supposed finding of Osama Bin Laden's head, and Katrina has the new focus of the Bush Administration."
Surprisingly, Imperato also stated that the American people should not "throw in the towel" on President Bush and that ultimately President Bush is in charge and has the ability to protect US interests, as well as his own.
However, Imperato also wanted the American people to know that there could be potential decoys and events that could accelerate war between Iran and the United States.
This, according to Imperato, would be done to "increase the viability of a war in Iran" and to "associate the Sunnis and the Saudis to play a more important role against the Shiia."
For the upcoming 2008 Presidential election, Americans may very well have to choose between changing course in the middle of a conflict by electing a Democrat to the White House or staying the course with another Republican.
When asked for final comments, Imperato responded with the following. "That's why I say its time for a third party in the White House to give an alternative choice to the American people. We must put a wedge in two party system that has ultimately brought our country to where we are today. So I ask the American people to support me in my efforts to bring a third party into the White House in 2008 and win now."
