Linda Perham MP shortlisted for ePolitix Disability Champion Award

Pressbox (Press Release) - The distinguished British Parliamentarian, Linda Perham, member of the parliament for Ilford North has been shortlisted for the e-Politix Charity Champion Awards 2004 - Disability Champion.

Ivan Corea, Chair of the Autism Awareness Campaign UK endorsing Linda Perham's nomination commended her for her tireless work in supporting all people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome in the UK. There are 520,000 people with autism and 90,000 autistic children.

Linda Perham's contribution to the on-going debate on disabilities has been outstanding.

She created history by asking the first ever question on Autism in Prime Minister's Question Time on 9th January 2002 in Autism Awareness Year. She also initiated a debate on autism in the House of Commons in the Palace of Westminster on that very day.

'Linda Perham has helped and supported so many people with autism and Asperger's Syndrome,' said Ivan Corea. Linda Perham MP was nominated by the Autism Awareness Campaign UK and backed by several major charities.
