Pressbox (Press Release) - Los Angeles – March 5, 2007 - As 2008 Independent Presidential Candidate, Daniel Imperato, was in the west coast rallying support from the Mexican community, a quick response came this morning about former South Carolina Governor Carroll Campbell's endorsement of Mike Huckabee.
According to unconfirmed reports, Campbell's endorsement came on the heels of Imperato declaring his candidacy for the Reform Party .
"Lets make something clear, I am still running as an independent, and my seeking the Reform Party nomination has to do with ballot access," said Imperato.
Imperato will be seeking ballot access from all third parties. His strategy is to collaborate all of the resources , and ballot access for the third parties to create a powerful independent coalition.
Previously, Imperato has stated that, if he can achieve ballot access , the possibility of his winning is high.
To handle his ballot access plan, Imperato hired the nation's foremost expert on the subject, Matt Sawyer, the same consultant who orchestrated Ross Perot's ballot access in all 50 states, in 1992 and 1996.
The initial request for the Reform Party nomination is the first step for Imperato's third party appeal for ballot access, in what could be a landmark campaign strategy , to align with independent parties to get endorsements and ballot access in all 50 states.
So far, the 2008 race could be the first chance to put an independent in the White House since George Washington.
