Dustbingate Returns: New Woes in North West for Deputy P.M. Prescott

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott's troubles in the North West of England look set to continue with the release of the latest plans at Norfilms.com for the production of the feature film Dustbingate and the launch of their new online video game at their Dustbingate.com web site. This is the story of the political scandal that Prescott's family were involved in several years ago and hoped had long been forgotten.
This is the latest is a series of woes to confront Prescott following the abandonment of the regional assembly planned for the North West and continued concerns in the region over lack of action about the extensions to Greater Manchester's successful but overstrained tram network.
The online video game has been released on the web at Dustbingate.com by NORFILMS based on their experience last year when they began to raise interest in their movie production. This was squashed by Prescott's office in a move against The Guardian newspaper to prevent the public learning about the movie and the true story of the property dealing scandal on which it was based and in which Prescott's son was deeply involved.
The scandal had blown up in 1998 soon after New Labour's landslide general election, when a group of ordinary and totally insignificant factory workers uncovered a series of deals between the local housing trust and Prescott's son's property company. The story was subsequently turned into a successful book about the men's experiences and now a film script.
The game is a reversal on the theme of the film as it gives everyone the opportunity to play a New Labour Minister's role in suppressing news stories before they reach the press. Apart from Prescott it features a notable Prime Minister also known for running roughshod over press freedoms and the truth.
The Manchester-based film company Norfilms hope that the game will raise the profile of the project so they can find the funds for the movie. The storyline is similar to that of the hit comedy film "The Full Monty", which was a world-wide success at about the same time that the events in Dustbingate occurred and the producers hope that this story will have a similar world-wide appeal for its theme of ordinary working class people overcoming enormous odds and confronting the highest in the land.
Full details of the project are available on the www.dustbingate.com web site where players can download the game.
