DRAGGING EXPLOSIVE REGULATIONS INTO 21ST CENTURY
Added: (Thu Aug 19 2004)
Pressbox (Press Release) -
Current Government explosive safety regulations (HSE and MOD) are still based on 19th Century technology despite recent updates. The result is catastrophic explosions up to 250 tonnes of explosives are still permitted.
If regulations were based on 21st Century technology (micro explosion size control)then explosion sizes could be limited to less than 50kg regardless of how much explosive is present.
Micro explosion size control is safer, cheaper to implement, enables greater efficiencies and puts fewer resources at risk such as people, buildings, etc.
