Press Release 30th December 2003
Elysian Consultants, the luxury branded Wedding Design and Events Company based in London’s Docklands, in conjunction with the recent news that one of the country’s most respected institutions, the National Trust will open Five of its properties for blessing ceremonies for same-sex couples, today made the following statement:
“The timely decision made by National Trust strengthens what we believe is the absolute right of two people in love to honour their commitment, by having a blessing ceremony in beautiful and unique locations, such as the Trust’s properties.
We have 4 new clients for same-sex blessing ceremonies in the last month alone, and have given our couples the news regarding the National Trust today. They are as delighted, as we are, about the decision and we all have our fingers crossed the other properties will follow soon.”
Elysian Consultants were established in 1999 and have dealt with numerous luxury weddings and private events throughout Europe and the UK. In 2002 they received their first enquiry about a symbolic wedding to be preformed in Italy for a same-sex couple. 12 weeks later the wedding took place in a private palace near Sorrento, to the applause of 250 friends and family of the couple. In July 2003 they formalised a team to work solely on same-sex symbolic weddings heading by Senior Director Victoria Armstrong-Jones.
