North East Motorists Leading In The Safety Stakes - Northern Counties Insurance Brokers

In some disturbing news just released nearly a third of drivers have not worn a seat belt at some time in the last year whilst in a moving car.
The results come from survey conducted by the motor industry body SMMT and the good news for the North East is that drivers in our region are most likely to buckle up in the UK with over 83% of people surveyed saying they always put on a seat belt.
Londoners are the worst at ignoring the “Clunk-Click on every trip” message with only 61% of drivers in the Capital questioned saying they always wore a seat belt.
Further findings from the survey showed:
Under 35’s are far more likely to risk their lives than older drivers
Women are better than men at buckling up

Driver’s seem far more aware and have more consideration of other driver’s in the North East than anywhere else I’ve driven.”
