ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING RULES REVISED: what are the real implications?

Added: (Fri Jul 15 2005)

Pressbox (Press Release) - As the FSA announces the simplification and streamlining of its anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, the proposed revision of the Joint Money Laundering Streeting Group (JMLSG) guidance is set to radically change the way that money laundering and terrorist financing risk is managed in the UK. At the heart of the new approach is a move for regulated institutions to a "sharper, risk-based focus", with greater emphasis on senior management responsibility and a simplification of verification requirements. But what will this mean in real terms for AML practitioners?

At the same time, new standards in training and competence for compliance and AML are being proposed by the Financial Services Skills Council, to provide a benchmark for organisations to measure the effectiveness of their training programmes. But how can practitioners ensure that all their staff receive up-to-date and relevant training in an ever-changing environment?

MHA and The Conference Network are delighted to announce two new, innovative conference-workshops that will help AML practitioners to understand the real implications for their organisations of both these crucial initiatives.
