Added: (Mon Jul 05 2010)

Pressbox (Press Release) - New Delhi DMA Newsdesk):Entertainment has an address now. Worlds of Wonder (WOW), Noida's own Disneyland is the first theme park that India can proudly boast of.

Spread over an area of 150 acres in sector 38 Noida, the park is bound to bring alive the child in you. As you walk down through the sprawling lush green park which encompasses a large area, you can see children as well as adults having a gala time…away from the madness of the city. The glint in their eyes and the sounds of their laughter as they enjoy the joyous rides remind you of your own childhood, when life was one never-ending joyride!
The park has now become a perfect getaway for families who spend their weekends, only to come back the next week.

The park is divided into different zones- Road Show, La fiesta, Kid Zone and Water Park. Each zone has its own set of rides to suit the taste of the audience. The park offers fun and entertainment to people of all age groups. If the Big Beat and Rocking Rollers are for the mighty hearts, the Mega Disko and Fast Forward will make your child shout in joy.

"The park has been created not only to attract locals but tourists as well. It has been designed on the international lines, meeting the standards of Disneyland, Universal Studios, Six Flags and the likes. With all imported rides and leading international consultants, this place evokes memories of Disney Land. It is our endeavour to make this park a weekend destination so that people can spend quality time with their families and have loads of fun,” says Benu Seghal, Vice President Operations, The Great India Place.

The park witnesses footfalls of 20,000 on normal days and 30,000 on weekends. The figures in this summer vacation are expected to touch a new high. According to Sehgal, the place is a great hit amongst teenagers as they can enjoy seven rides which offer high-octane thrills, a sumptuous meal at the food court and a scintillating performance by a live band.

She said that the park is able to attract people in large numbers as the tickets are reasonably priced and the place is located right in the commercial hub of Noida. It is in close proximity to south Delhi and is the most sought after place.

"The tickets are reasonably priced and the visitors have the option of paying for either unlimited or limited number of rides. In other words, it offers value for money. The visitors can also avail of the multi-ticket entry scheme by becoming a member and choose among the Silver, Gold and Platinum categories. After making a onetime payment, you can have access to the park as many times as you want and the interesting thing about the entire package is that the cost of this membership gets recovered in just two visits. Not only that, it helps the patrons avail of special discounts on food and also get special invitations for various events the park organizes throughout the year. So whether you come alone or in a group, fun and excitement is guaranteed."

On expansion plans, Seghal said, “Noidans can let their hair down at the water park which is going to be ready by next year. It would be called Calypso Beach and will have a Caribbean feel to it." The right kind of feel would be given by City Design, a company that specializes in lighting for theme parks. "It could be simple lanterns or a totally theatrical effect that one may come across,” she added.

A string of entertaining events have been lined up, including puppet shows, magic shows and salsa nights for couples, to attract the target audience in large numbers. A rain dance floor is in place and a DJ is stationed to spin out racy numbers. We’ve buttoned sprinklers across the area and over 150 people can be accommodated at one time. If you aren’t in favour of getting drenched, get that adrenaline rush, experiencing those quirky rides!” .
