Worldpop’s ‘ITV Ibiza Night 2001’ Broadcast Date Confirmed

Added: (Wed Sep 05 2001)

Worldpop’s ‘ITV Ibiza Night 2001’ has been confirmed to broadcast on the night of Friday 14th September, starting at 12.45am with 3 x 1 hour programmes based on Ibiza 2001. The three programmes, which piece together to theme the late night Ibiza event will be broadcast nationwide through the ITV Network.

Sister Bliss, from leading dance outfit Faithless, presents the television event, which includes the following programmes: ‘Blissed Out’ where Sister Bliss takes us on a tour of her Ibiza – including best restaurants, hotels, clubs and beaches. She also hunts out the few quiet spots left on the island that accommodates 1 million brits every summer. ‘Top Ten Ibiza Videos’ where Worldpop pulls together all the artists who have turned to Ibiza for inspiration to create some of the most memorable pop and dance videos of the past decade. Featured videos include Wham!, David Morales, Mel C and Chicane. Finally, ‘Ibiza Memories’ where stars and fans alike talk about their favourite Ibiza holidays. The show features an exclusive interview with Fatboy Slim and Zoe Ball on when they first met on the island, as well as leading DJ’s Danny Rampling and Pete Tong.

Ben Turner, Editorial Director of Worldpop, spoke of the commission, "We're delighted to be putting together an evening which will finally portray Ibiza as the beautiful clubbing paradise that it really is. This night will be anything but IBIZA UNCOVERED, and will lay to rest the perception that this island is nothing but an island full of mindless Brits in football shirts."
