SMART LYRICS AND CHORD CHANGES TO DIE FOR
March 4, 2005 (Devon, UK) -- Dave Sanderson, a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist artistically known as Flowerbed, has released his brand new album "Songbook". The CD contains 11 tracks with influences from Joni Mitchell to XTC. "Exquisitely crafted songwriting...wonderful harmonies, smart lyrics and chord changes to die for." The South West Gig Guide, UK writes.
Dave Sanderson was born in the North East of England, UK. Today he resides in the warmer climes of the South West. After performing with many bands, providing jingles for radio then studying composition (culminating in the completion of a PhD) from which followed a number of live concert performances of his contemporary classical work, Dave is now very keen to present and distribute his new music under the name of Flowerbed.

"I think it's important to remember that it's family, friends, daily events and the recollection of memories that influence you when you create something though.
Not just musical sounds!" Dave says. "Although I admire and enjoy musicians who break the rules, Frank Zappa for instance, I'm quite conventional when it comes to my own work, I think. I like good wholesome songcraft so I aim to write songs which are strong melodically and harmonically. I still believe in middle eights even if many groups think that's cheesy."

Dave believes what makes him different to other songwriters is that he's liable to hop to another genre or medium without warning. "So look out there could an orchestral piece or an album of piano instrumentals or maybe even something to 'get up and dance to' next!" he laughs.
