Seafood at its best in Aldeburgh and Thorpeness

Added: (Tue Sep 18 2007)

The Suffolk coast has much to offer… vast skies, unspoilt shingle beaches and the freshest fish you can imagine.

Taking advantage of their location a pebble’s throw from the beach, the Aldeburgh restaurants at the Brudenell and White Lion Hotels and the Thorpeness Hotel will be offering a feast of seafood dishes throughout the autumn and winter.

The seafood at all three restaurants (those in Aldeburgh have AA rosettes) has a growing reputation, with fish being bought from the beach and going straight to the kitchen door.

Signature seafood dishes change with the seasons. As summer fades, we can look forward to skate, mackerel and moules marinière in autumn and oysters and mussels in winter.

But not only will you see the like of lobsters on the menu, you’ve never tasted that most traditional of dishes – fish and chips – the way it is freshly prepared at these Suffolk restaurants.
