Recording Commences on John Lee Hooker Tribute Album in U.S. & U.K.

(NYC) Blue Storm Music announced that recording has begun in London and the U.S on Volume I of (a yet to be titled) album celebrating the music of John Lee Hooker.
In London, several tracks have been completed under the production of Cream lyricist Pete Brown that include “In The Mood” and “Serve Me Right To Suffer” featuring Jack Bruce, Gary Moore and Gary Husband. Also completed are “This Is Hip” with Mick Taylor on lead vocals and guitars, pianist Max Middleton and Godfrey McLain on drums. Peter Green Splinter Group has contributed John Lee Hooker’s “Crawlin’ King Snake.”
Legendary guitarist Jeff Beck just completed his recordings of the Hooker arrangement “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” joined by a full gospel choir, and “Hobo Blues” with Earl Green, Richard Bailey, Dave “Munch” Moore and David Hadley. Another completed session is keyboardist/vocalist Gary Brooker of Procol Harum fame, guitarist Andy Fairweather-Low, drummer Henry Spinetti and bassist Matt Peg on “Baby Le" and "Little Wheel." The remaining London sessions are still being finalized with other artists.
On the U.S. side, LLC has completed “Jesse James.” LLC is Leo Lyons and Ric Lee of Ten Years After and guitar wizard/vocalist Vince Converse. Other U.S. sessions include George Thorogood, Little Feat, a representation from The Grateful Dead and a very special track from Zakiya Hooker and her band Bluz 4 U. Zakiya is John Lee’s daughter and in addition to her performance, she will be contributing both liner notes and family photos to the project.
Blue Storm Music is contributing a portion of the proceeds from these recordings to The John Lee Hooker Foundation.
