Prog Rock rekindled at SugarHill

(HOUSTON, TEXAS) – August 29th, 2005– SugarHill Recording Studios -- one of the oldest running studios in the south -- has hosted a plethora of prog rock in its day, including bands such as Johnny “Rabbit” Bundrick, (eventual keyboard player for The Who), The Thirteenth Floor Elevators, and the ultimate Psychedlic/Prog Rock band of the 60’s, The Red Krayola.

J.R. Commentary is a Houston band that has been around for 2 years, continuing SugarHill’s legend in the progressive rock genre. “Our music incorporates elements of jazz, funk, vintage rock, all fused together with a progressive feel”, is how lead guitarist Nick LaGrasta described their sound.

The band tracked and mixed a 3-song demo at SugarHill Recording Studios, with Chief Engineer Andy Bradley during the month of July and August. “Andy's a brilliant audio engineer and is a free-flowing music lover; he is not set in his ways, and worked great with our band to get us the sound we wanted”, commented LaGrasta. Bradley also helped co-produce the album with the band.

The band consists of Ian Goodrick (Guitars & Vocals), Zach Goodrick (Bass & Guitar), Nick LaGrasta (Lead Guitar), and Jason Evert (Drums) and will be playing select shows around the Houston area.
