The Managing Director of Pegasus Client Services, who believes that the only thing that trumps a can-do attitude is a will-do attitude. “I believe it's is all very well and good to approach new things saying 'I can do this' but if you approach them saying 'I will do this no matter what' you are more likely to stick to whatever it is and achieve it sooner because you go that extra mile to not fail yourself"
"Rich Dad, Poor Dad" is written by Robert Kiyosaki, it is based on what he learned as a child in Hawaii. His biological father was not well off financially but worked extremely hard, he said "money doesn't matter" but was concerned with the security offered to him by being in a secure job with a reputable company - a health-care plan, pension, etc. Biological dad was a well-educated man who went on to achieve a PhD and worked hard consistently. He said he wasn't interested in making money - and didn't - but as a consequence he spent his energy concentrating on avoiding need. Best friend's dad was less educated, but more specialised: he knew about financial services - employing experts in making money to do just that. He had no fear of being without, so he was free to think independently and creatively - and what an inspiration that can be, even for people without huge resources at the moment. The managing director of Pegasus Client Services agrees with the above statement saying, ‘fear holds so many of us back in life – however taking an educated risk coupled with hard work comes great rewards.’
What Kiyosaki does is tell us to start where we usually stop. People often think that, to do well, they have to dump their goals to serve those of the people they serve. Kiyosaki says ‘know and go for what you want. Your motivation will charge up your life.’ It follows that if you are doing things that suit you, you will take more interest, and Kiyosaki knows it is important to keep feeding your mind - thats how your choices and opportunities grow. His third tip is to manage your friendships: we all love our Eeyore friends, but our Tiggers should be our heroes. Tiggers love to share what works for them and, as we get smarter, we want to be Tiggers too! If we find we ourselves ruing things like Eeyore, we should switch to something Tiggerish, and keep embracing new learning opportunities, however humble or off our road plan they might be.
Pegasus Client Services is based in Chelmsford and agree that there are so many lessons to be learnt from Kiyosaki’s experience with a source saying, ‘this book needs to be read a few time so one can really absorb every crumb of information. It is important to read books like this to broaden ones perspective on business and how to think big.’
