MOJO GURUS JUMP 20 SPOTS, LAND AT # 27 ON RADIOWAVE COUNTRY/AMERICANA CHART

Added: (Tue Sep 13 2005)

MOJO GURUS, a Tampa, FLA-based band signed to Empire Musicwerks/Universal Music, has generally been perceived as a hard rocking band combining down and dirty Southern swamp rock and snarling Cajun rocker-billy. Now comes word that a whole different genre of music lovers has embraced the group.

This week, Internet site RadioWaveMonitor.com reports that MOJO GURUS’ song “Baddest Mother’s Son” is racing up their charts. Entering the race just last week, the track jumped 20 spots to land at #27 on this week’s Top 40. This chart debut comes hot on the heels of being the most added song at Rock, Country/Americana and Adult two weeks ago. The total audience tuning in to hear the single is reported as 30,501. Additionally, Kickin’ Country (www.kickincountryradio.com) and Total Country (www.Totalcountry103.com) are big MOJO GURU supporters.

But that’s not all! The band is picking up international airplay on Britain’s Overflow Radio Seagull (www.theoverflow.co.uk), heard in 75% of the world on 9290Khz Short Wave from a high-powered transmitter in Latvia. And New York-based Radio Crystal Blue (http://www.radiocrystalblue.com) singled out the band to be featured on their popular “New Music Sampler” program, heard weekly on Live365.com, the largest Internet radio network of all. This show is also available as a podcast.

“Baddest Mother’s Son” is a track off the just-released MOJO GURUS CD “Shakin’ In The Barn.” Currently, the band is on tour in support of this album. Upcoming dates include two shows in New York City on September 19 (The Continental) and September 20 (Arlene’s Grocery).
