The great opera voice behind the latest commercial for Walker’s Mediterranean Crisp Sensations will at last be showing his face. Chelsea based socialite Tara Palmer – Tomkinson is seen in the advert singing on a swing with the number one crisp fanatic Gary Lineker, miming to the choice voice of opera star Wynne Evans. On Saturday 20th August audiences at the Castle Howard Spitfire Proms will at last get the chance to see the real man in action!

Wynne Evans, Principal Tenor with the Welsh National Opera, is certainly no stranger to music loving audiences and in August at Castle Howard he will be taking centre stage with star soprano Sarah Ryan and the English National Orchestra. Together they will be performing a selection of some of the best loved arias ever composed… But sadly not with the Walker’s Sensations operatic overtone! The popular classical music programme does however include Lara’s masterpiece Granada, Eduardo Di Capua’s O Sole Mio, and Puccini’s Nessun Dorma, alongside the more traditional flag waving anthems of Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.

Organisers are expecting a record attendance at this year’s concert that includes an aerial display choreographed to music by a WW2 Spitfire to commemorate and celebrate the 60th anniversary of VE and VJ Day. They believe the ‘latest crisp sensation’ will prove to be a very, very tasty edition to the Castle Howard Flying Proms!
