Pressbox (Press Release) -
Ian Noakes, former head projectionist of a multiplex Cinema, is rocketing his way into the film industry by writing what goes up on the big screen instead: his first script DARK PASSENGER is slated for production in the summer of 2009.
Ian Noakes' writing career only spans back to 2005, but his latest project DARK PASSENGER, co-written with Scott Parisien, has attracted the eye of upcoming producer John Roberts of Dreambig Entertainment Ltd.
“This was an easy decision for me,” says John, “It is obvious that Ian and Scott are talented writers and have developed a special script...I’m confident I'll be able to attract A-list talent to the project.”
A sinister tale of murder and intrigue, Dark Passenger follows the fates of Jessica, a single Mum who believes she will be killed by an unknown assailant on her twenty fifth birthday – like her own mother and grandmother before her.
This dark thriller has earned rave reports from industry stalwarts like Script P.I.M.P, a leading US Script Consultancy where it obtained the mythic status of RECOMMEND: “Dark Passenger is one of the rare instances where a drama/thriller actually provides enough depth of character, entertainment value, logic grounded more or less in science and complexity to lure us in at once and never let go from start to finish… In this reader’s opinion, it is much better than any number of produced films in recent memory.”
In addition to this major debut, Ian has made staggering progress in three short years: he has garnered two script options; had four scripts 'optioned-to-shop' by a top US entertainment attorney; gained three feature writing assignments; he’s also had multiple placements in the latter stages of high profile writing contests and currently has a number of projects under consideration.
And this is not Ian’s only venture with Dreambig: Ian has created an internet-based comedy series ACTING OUT with a small team of talented writers. John will produce Acting Out once shooting commences in late April 2008. The series will initially comprise of six episodes and will be available for download this summer!
