Extreme SuperTwins On Display At Alexandra Palace!

Added: (Fri Jan 27 2006)

Pressbox (Press Release) - The National Association of SuperTwins (NAST) are putting the finishing touches to their plans for the Xtreme Wheels International show, taking place at London’s Alexandra Palace on 25th/26th February 2006.

“We’ve got a good selection of bikes from the Championship Series to display on the stand this year,” says Les Harris, Vice Chair of the Club. “Xtreme Wheels is brilliant; it gives the public a chance to get right up close to these machines, and talk to some of the guys – and girls! – who build and race them. Later in the year, when the racing season starts, people can see and hear us all in action at Santa Pod and Shakespeare County Raceway but Xtreme Wheels is special. We love getting up-close-and-personal!”

NAST has run the SuperTwins Championship Drag Race Series since 1993. There are four racing classes and each race bike is a hand-built unique original, reflecting the creativity, imagination, skills and experience of its owners and builders. Bikes based on Ducati, Suzuki, Yamaha, Cagiva and Harley Davidson are amongst those currently competing.

With just 2 wheels and 2 cylinders these machines cover a quarter mile in well under 10 seconds – 9.98 secs is the Street record crossing the line at 139 mph and the quickest ‘twin’ ever is 7.22 secs, reaching 186 mph… double quick!

More than 250 extreme machines, including those from the NAST, will pack the floors of the Alexandra Palace for the 2006 Xtreme Wheels International show. Tickets are now on sale with discounts offered to advance purchasers. Buy online from www.xwishow.com or call the Credit Card Hotline on 01483 236363.
