Delay on the Brae

Added: (Fri Oct 28 2005)

A new nightclub, soon to open in Carnegies Brae, Aberdeen, has had its launch celebration party delayed.
Lo-Down, a new late-night lounge and club, have been consulting with local authorities in Aberdeen on an on-going basis with a view to creating a safer and more enjoyable clubbing experience for city revellers.
Extensive refurbishment work has been taking place to dramatically improve the late-night venue with manager Adrian Gomes counting down to a memorable launch party which had been scheduled for the end of October. However, through cooperating with the Aberdeenshire authorities, it was decided that supplementary security measures, designed to further augment client safety, were to be taken.
General Manager, Adrian Gomes said “The two additional cameras will face in either direction of Carnegies Brae. These, in partnership with lighting and highly trained stewards, will serve to provide our ambitious and innovative venue with superior security measures. The big downside is that by putting client safety to the top of our agenda, we now face having to postpone our opening until the middle of November

The venue is characteristically housed in three supporting arches, dated circa 1800, on Carnegies Brae below Aberdeen’s main thoroughfare, Union Street.

Entertainment is high on the agenda at Lo-Down. This complimented with a high-quality, reasonably-priced selection of house, premium and mixed drinks plus free entry (unless otherwise stated) should thrust Lo-Down to the forefront of the entertainment scene in, not only the city of Aberdeen, but in fact the national scene.

During the week Lo-Down is a late-night basement lounge with a rotation of DJ’s, spinning an eclectic selection from soul, funk and hip-hop, to disco, house and broken beat.

Friday/Saturday nights sees the venue open up for a rotation of new and established club nights catering for all your audio requirements. High profile guests will feature regularly.
