Pressbox (Press Release) - As part of its 21st anniversary year celebrations Emandel restaurant has taken the decision to throw open its doors for the first time until 2am on Friday nights. Celebrity jazz singer Christine Jenkins, who has performed all over the world, will appear at the restaurant performing jazz songs from Friday June 14th and every Friday thereafter until mid September.

“CJ is quite a performer, she has a fantastic low and sultry voice. When you see her perform it’s like watching a stage show. She’s got quite a following. People are already booking in for a chance to see her singing live” John Gilbert, Manager, Emandel

Christine Jenkins was born and bred in the home of music, New Orleans, Louisiana. She began singing professionally at the age of fourteen. After being discovered in The Ice House in Los Angeles CJ left the US to take up opportunities in Europe. She performed in the musical “Hair” in Madrid, and in Parisian clubs including The Front Page, rue Saint Denis and Astoin Rive Gauche.

Christine is now based in London and has formed a strong musical partnership with Fred Humphreys on keyboards. They perform a lively combination of jazz standards including such songs as: Route 66, Satin Doll, Stormy Weather, Cry Me a River, Tuxedo Junction, Summertime, Georgia, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Lady is a Tramp, This Masquerade, Funny Valentine and many more.

“We’re very fortunate to be one of the few venues in Richmond to hold a late license. We’re delighted to be able to offer these special Friday jazz evenings to our customers. There is going to be a big demand so we’re making it by reservation only” John Gilbert, Manager, Emandel
