American Sand sculpting Championship and Beach Festival Fort Myers

They say the sand on Fort Myers Beach is the best in the world for sculpting and to prove it every year around 1,00,000 spectators and artists gather at the Outrigger Beach Resort for the American Sandsculpting Championship Festival. By mixing water, sugar, fine white sand and artistic talent, masters and amateurs transform the beach into an art show. Check out the Master Sculptors Competition or participate in the amateur's contest. The Sand Magic Village has artisan and food booths on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All five days feature broadcast music, demonstrations and beach barbecues.

The combined lineup of Master Sculptors participating this year, hold an amazing 27 World Sandsculpting Champion Titles and 18 American Sandsculpting Champion Titles. This year, 16 of the World's Top Master Sculptors will compete in the 2009 American Sandsculpting Championship & Beach Festival. As the area's premier family-friendly event, the festival is expected to draw over 100,000 spectators.
