AS SEEN ON TV…edibleRed READY FOR THEIR TURN IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Added: (Thu Apr 12 2007)

Pressbox (Press Release) - edibleRed is one of the hardest working bands on the New York City indie scene. Lead singer COLLETTE MCLAFFERTY has secured several TV appearances that have brought the fiery-haired lead singer into your living room.

The ball started rolling after a feature segment, alongside edibleRed co-founding member TOM PAPADATOS on FUSE TV’s daily program IMX with Steven and Marionella. COLLETTE had a taste of the spotlight and began receiving offers for roles that helped promote edibleRed. The first stop would be another FUSE TV show, Tattoo Stories, where COLLETTE recounted the origin of their unique body art alongside members of Lacuna Coil. After that, the singer/songwriter was featured on the Style Network’s Split Ends where she swapped her regular hairstylist and sat under the shears of a hot Los Angeles coiffeur.

With all the attention edibleRed received from their handful of TV appearances, it wasn’t long before their music made its way into the hands of music supervisors. The band’s debut single, the fun and frisky “Sugar and Spring,” was featured in the Showtime original series, The L Word, in the season three episode “Lassoed.” That same track received airplay on the Oxygen Network’s Good Girls Don’t.

Most recently, COLLETTE and edibleRed cello player, DAVE EGGAR found themselves as guests on the Dr. Keith Ablow Show. The episode featured the talents of twin psychics, who predicted the band was destined for great things!

Since then, edibleRed has begun to make the rounds on the national radio scene. COLLETTE was a guest co-host on Sirius Satellite Radio’s “Devore and Diana” show where she was given a chance to promote edibleRed’s forthcoming album Welcome to My Bad Behavior, (out May 22, on Select Records). “I'm constantly traveling with 4 dudes, so I am pretty familiar with their brand of humor! When they started the "Weed Feed" (marijuana related News Stories) or the "Bail or Rail" (a quiz that deciphered which celebrities I would kick out of bed) segments, I didn't flinch. I gave a "RAIL" to Anthony Kiedis and a big fat emphatic oh-hell-no "BAIL" to George W. Bush,” COLLETTE said of the experience.

COLLETTE recently dropped by the Joey Reynolds show where she and Reynolds discussed everything from the upcoming CD release, to musical theater and what it is like being in a New York City rock band. COLLETTE and edibleRed bassist MARTY OSTERER will soon be heard on ABC Radio’s EXPN station where they will give listeners a sneak peak at two songs from the brand new album.

The month of April brought COLLETTE to the set of the VH1 pilot for a new talk show featuring MC Search (of the White Rapper Show) which, if picked up, would begin airing Fall 2007. She and lead guitarist SEAN MCMECHEN, will be filming an episode of the program, My New York, where the band mates will travel through their hometown and take the viewer on a tour of their favorite haunts.
