“People don’t consider Houston to be the epicenter for couture that it is, and we just wanted to bring that world to the forefront,” said Rebecca Briscoe, president of A List Models. The 1st annual Houston Fashion Weekend has been created for the purpose of expression, and showing who and what we are through the world of art and fashion. Designer Antonio Wingfield stated that, “Clothing should be an expression of the inner self. I like for the garment to look as if the woman who is in it was born to wear it. In the end, I’d like for my clothing to stand alongside my paintings as timeless, unforgettable works of art.” “Fashion,” added Shawn D. Florence, “It’s not in a brand; it’s in you. To be able to set your sense of style on auto-pilot is having mastered the art of fashion.” A percentage of all proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Greater Houston chapter for Hurricane Rita and Katrina.
